About the Artwork

A Beer Glass Dressed for Dinner

The Musetti Buon Appetito beer poster gives a tall golden beer the white napkin of a diner. A knife and fork lean toward a plate of sausages beneath it. The simple visual joke turns glassware, utensils and a table setting into a character.

Artwork and design

The cobalt field makes the napkin and thick white head stand out. A pair of bright highlights runs down the glass, while the reddish handles of the cutlery echo the sausages and the large word Birra.

About this advertisement

The Italian national catalogue credits Luigi Musetti and describes the napkin that doubles as a table covering. The message is a general invitation to enjoy beer with a meal, a theme carried as much by the plate as by the lettering.

Rooms and interiors

Its direct shapes and blue background work near a kitchen table, an informal dining room or a game room bar. Let the red Birra lettering provide the accent beside otherwise simple furnishings.
