About the Artwork

Nectar and Glou-Glou Take a Seat

This Nicolas Bench Poster places Nectar and Glou-Glou side by side on a lightly drawn garden bench. Their matching blue aprons and dark jackets connect the adult delivery figure with his smaller companion. Bottle groups rest in front of them, while a broad cream background and the large blue Nicolas name give the relaxed scene an open, uncluttered setting.

Artwork and design

The two seated bodies form a compact central group beneath the wide title. Hands rest together in front of the aprons, creating a still contrast with the many upright bottles below. Fine bench outlines add structure without becoming heavy, and the yellow labels introduce small warm accents among the dark glass, shoes and clothing.

About this advertisement

Nectar and Glou-Glou are named in the lower script, identifying the characters within the wine merchant's advertising world. Nicolas traces Nectar's creation to Dransy in 1922. This seated version makes companionship and a pause in delivery the subject, using the bottles in the foreground to keep the commercial activity present within the quiet scene.

Rooms and interiors

Choose it for a dining nook, kitchen or home bar with blue ceramics and warm cream walls. Its calm seated arrangement can balance more animated bottle-carrier or dancing-figure prints. A pale wood sideboard and a little space around the image will echo the lightly drawn bench and keep the small bottle groups easy to notice.
